Because I was in the doctor’s office this morning, getting treated for a massive, chest-sealing asthma attack and, there it was, clear as a bell, Dear Aunt Sylvia and her acetylene virgin. Hadn’t thought of it in years. Also, I’ve never read poetry while in the 12th hour of a dwindling asthma attack. So, you know - adventures.

I would have preferred the "missed the first half...
I had a dream last night that I was taking a blue-book essay exam. It was in some sort of history class. In the dream, I was not panicked, under-prepared, in the wrong room, being asked to write in French, using pens that kept coming apart in my hands, or wearing only my underwear. Everything was fine. I even dreamed writing an outline on the inside cover of the blue book. And that was the problem...

Overlap in the librarian/knitter Venn diagram
Currently, strictly from a research standpoint, it looks like Yule Cat - an Icelandic knitting myth with its origins in the 19th century - is something that the internet is making up, but I really, really hope I’m wrong. More later.

Dave makes a good point. Let us share Important Things about Tumblr with the new guy. As he said, you absolutely must follow The Daily What. One cannot roll with this (or perhaps any) Tumblr crowd without following The Daily What.  Tags are your friend. Start a list of tracked tags and tag your posts. How I Spent My Winter Break
Starting in October, there was a sweater for my sister, made from the same yarn I used for my mother’s throw. This sweater is warm, slouchy, and despite how it looks here, surprisingly structured and flattering. I’m pleased with how it turned out and would like one for myself, but - Do you see that stitching? Miles, fields, absolute oceans of moss stitch, knitted up in one piece....

Printing out all of one’s receipts and confirmation numbers for a trip is perfectly normal. I think I skate out onto thinner ice when I place them in a folder labeled “receipts,” arranged in the order in which I will need them.
